DID YOU SEE OUR GIVING TUESDAY CAMPAIGN? We were so grateful to our parents and carers for sharing with us their precious ‘first photos’ for our ‘then and now’ campaign. It was incredible to see how so many of our gorgeous children had such a fight at the beginning of their lives.
It was also very emotional for us and I am sure it must have tugged at your heart strings too! We would love you to check out our stories which you can find on Facebook and Instagram.
The photos above are some of the children from our campaign. From the very first pictures to now. Sadly some of these are no longer with us, but their words about what BDCPS have done for them in their short lives are truly special.
We will share their stories below in the coming weeks. Thanks to all the parents and carers who shared these special, precious photos with us, to help us spread the word of BDCPS and the work we do.
This time of year is usually a time where we raise lots of money, being the season of goodwill and giving! We had to think a little more creatively this year about how we can raise some of the funds we would normally achieve.
We ran a Christmas Virtual Fair on Facebook, where we had 47 stallholders who each paid £5 (some more!) to have a stall.
The feedback from this was lovely and most even said that even if they didn’t make any sales, they were just pleased to be supporting a small charity.
Many of our stall holders and a few extra people were kind enough to also donate a prize to our Christmas raffle. We sold numbers online, for £1 each and we were blown away with just how much we raised – over £650 from raffle sales alone! Online raffle tickets definitely seems the way forward!
As well as this, we had our Giving Tuesday campaign, which was an honour to share with our wider community. The first photos to where they are now was just so inspiring. It also remembered those who were no longer with us.
So with all of the above and our ACE club fundraiser, Christmas Giving page, Facebook, cash and bank donations we think we have raised over £1000 this December! We will be able to share our final figure next year when we have collated it all together!
Thanks to every single one of you who has been part of our Christmas giving campaign in whichever ways you could give back.
We wish you all the very best in 2021 – have a peaceful and wonderful Christmas. We will be thinking of those we have lost this year, whose families will be without their loved ones. We know this will be a particularly difficult time for you all.
Well, what sounds like a Craig David song, we went from being in Tier 2 Monday, moved into Tier 3 on Saturday and Tier 4 on Sunday!
We know how devastated so many of you will be, a last minute change of plan, which highlights the worries of the new strain of Covid 19.
Our love and thoughts go to all those who had planned to see family, ordered their food, or those who were yet to go Christmas shopping. Many would be waiting until payday so this must have been such difficult news.
Christmas is a time for family and being with loved ones, but we do understand the need to keep everyone as safe as possible this year – we all knew it was not going to be a normal year and the good news is that you can look forward to more family Zoom fun over Christmas instead!
We know this may be a lonely or difficult time for so many too, and we want to remind you that we are here to talk to and help where we can.
Here’s to a very Merry but different Christmas, a big party is due when this is all over. Sending lots of positivity and strength. We’ve made it this far, many have not. Stay safe ❤️
